Dos Equis XX Amber
I thought these were for drinking only while eating chips and salsa and listening to recordings of bad mariachi music..Well, I was wrong...
I enjoyed a draft XX amber with a few friends of mine the other day,,and while they did indeed go well with the south of the border atmosphere, they can be enjoyed anytime with any food...
I bought a sixer of these along with a sixer of my boy Grolsch Lager (since 1615) to enjoy on my birthday with a nice thick strip steak and baked potato..
..As I popped the top of a XX, I read the label as condensation rolled from the ice cold spew bottle melting with the warm, humid southern air..XX, I learned, was made in 1897 to commemorate the coming of the XX century!! Neato!! While it was nice and cold I gulped down a good swallow..I immediately went for another swig..I couldn't get enough of that damn taste...It was indeed Tony--(Slang for GRRREAT!!)..I don't do this often, but I finished the sixer of XX and left my long time fav Grolsch in the fridge for another day!! And, it went along with my groceries for the evening just as well as it does with chips and salsa..
So, endulge yourself with a great mexican spew the next time you grill and pick up six or twelve XX's...NO LIME NEEDED!!!!!!!!! Trust me and leave the Coronas and limes in the grocery store,,but don't forget the steak and baked potato..
