From The Official Website: Anheuser-Busch traces its origins back to the Bavarian brewery, which was established in 1852. Eberhard Anheuser acquired the Bavarian brewery in 1860 and renamed it E. Anheuser & Co. In 1864, his son-in-law, Adolphus Busch, joined the company that would later become Anheuser-Busch. While the company's early years were demanding, Adolphus Busch proved up to the challenge. His keen vision, bold initiative, marketing savvy and passionate commitment to quality were his legacy to those who followed, and the high standards he established have been adhered to by each succeeding generation. Today, Anheuser-Busch produces the two best-selling beers in the world, Budweiser and Bud Light; operates 12 breweries in the United States; and has operations around the globe.

Ballast Point Brewing Company is one of San Diego's Premier Breweries. We started out modestly as Home Brew Mart in 1992. Our goal was to teach others how to brew quality handcrafted beer at home. In 1996 the brewery was installed by New World Brewing Systems in the space behind our retail store and production began in September. In May of 2005 we open our second brewery in Scripps Ranch. We currently distribute five of our favorite beers, Yellowtail Pale Ale, Calico Amber Ale, Big Eye IPA, Wahoo Wheat, and Black Marlin Porter, as well as a host of seasonal specialty beers to a thirsty San Diego. Come to our brewery and we will gladly give you a tour and allow you to sample our newest selection of beers.
Currently our beer is available in twelve ounce bottles, 22 ouce bottles and kegs. We also offer half gallon and gallon glass jugs (growlers) to go. Kegs are available for rent to the public with a deposit.
The name for our brewery comes from the point where Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo first set foot in California. Located on the Point Loma Peninsula, Ballast Point is considered the gateway to San Diego Harbor. Stones from this area were used as ballast in the cargo holds of sailing ships returning to the eastern seaboard. Many New England streets are still lined with the cobblestones brought back from San Diego.

Eight generations ago, in 1809, the Lindemans family owned a farm in Vlezenbeek near Brussels. They decided to intensify Lambic brewing activities during winter, when less farm work had to be done. The farm produced wheat and barley, the raw mterials of the Lambic.
Due to the growing success of the Lambic, the brewery became more important and consequently, in 1930, the farm-activities
were stopped. It was in that year that they started the production of Geuze and Kriek.
In 1978, Lindemans started the production of Faro, after a period during which it was almost disappeared from the market.
The Framboise was launched in 1980 and due to the success of the fruit-beers, they created 2 new beers: Cassis (black current beer) in 1986 and Pecheresse (peach beer) in 1987.
Because of the increasing demand of Lindemans' Lambic-beers the antiquated brewery became to
slow to follow the production, so the Lindemans family decided in 1991 to build a new brewery next the old one to meet the growing needs of the market without any loss of quality.
In 1995, a new lambic product saw the light: Tea Beer, a surprising sweet-sour lemon tasting beer.
Due to the yearlong experience with Lambic and to aim always at a perfect quality, the results were bound to come:
In 1985, Michael Jakson (the beerhunter) exclaimed the Lindemans Kriek as one of the 5 best beers of the world.
W.B.C. Festival 1994-1995:
Lindemans Kriek Lambic : Platina medal
Lindemans Pecheresse: golden medal
Cal. B. Festival 1995:
Lindemans Framboise: Golden medal
Lindemans Geuze Lambic: golden medal
W.B.C. 1996:
recognized in 1996 Brewery Lindemans as one of the top ten breweries of the year.
W.B.C. 1997:
recognized in 1997 Brewery Lindemans as one of the top ten breweries of the year.
All these awards result in an increasing demand of these beers in the U.S.A. so that Brewery Lindemans became the best exporter of Belgian beers to the U.S.A.
The aim of Brewery Lindemans is to follow the always-changing market on a creative way, but still with respect towards the traditional "mother-beer": Lambic.
Nowadays, the farm-brewery is totally occupied by the brewing installation, fermentation places, stock- and bottle places.
The capacity of the brewery in 2008 was 85000 Hl of which 50% was intends for export to ea. France, U.S.A., Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, Argentina, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal,... .
The shareholders of the brewery are the cousins Dirk and Geert Lindemans.

Ever since the summer of 1995, we have been brewing, cooking, selling and talking everything beer. It's our pasttime, our passion, our life. Since the beginning, we have always wanted to bring original beer, great food and local music to the Rehoboth Beach area.
After a couple of years, no matter what we did, we could keep up with the demands of our beer, our food and our entertainment. We built a bigger and better brewhouse (in Rehoboth Beach, DE - on the Avenue) and that's where Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats is housed! Yum!
With brewing, distributing, cooking, entertaining happening all in one building on the Avenue in Rehoboth, we eventually outgrew the brew house and moved the entire production brewery to Milton, Delaware. To keep things interesting and off-centered, we built a distillery in the upstairs of the Rehoboth Brewhouse so we could make vodka, rum and gin.

Flying Dog Legend begins in 1983, and like every good legend there are several versions of this tale. The villains of the peace in this story are two non-conformist, 'not likely to take it lying down' ranchers named George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre.
As George tells it, he and 11 of his closest friends and family decided to embark on what they called an “amateur mountaineering expedition” to climb K2 in the Himalayas. Under-qualified and unprepared, they started their journey with a Sherpa, a donkey, and a suitcase full of contraband. Naturally, half way through the trip the contraband was gone and the Sherpa and donkey had run off, leaving George and his group to fend for themselves. Luckily, everyone managed to make it off the mountain alive, and with a new outlook on life. Like any good beer drinker would at the end of an experience like that, George and his group found a local Pakistani hotel bar to have a drink in. Now, alcohol is banned in most Muslim nations, but if you sign an affidavit stating you are the son of a Christian, it’s like a license to drink. George gladly signed away and got down to some serious drinking. That’s about the time he noticed a painting in the Flashman Hotel of a Flying Dog hanging on the wall that had been drawn by a local artist. Now, we all know dogs don’t fly, but nobody told this particular dog it couldn’t fly, just like no one had told George and his friends they couldn’t make this extraordinary journey. The Flying Dog became a symbol that George and his group used to describe what had happened to them with the mantra, “it is amazing what you can achieve if nobody tells you that you can't. Whether you believe this weird story or not (is up to you to decide), but what we do know is in 1990 George and Richard opened the Flying Dog Brewpub in Aspen, Colorado. The venture was an immediate success and people came from far and wide to kick back with a Flying Dog brew and soak up the bohemian atmosphere.
A few years later, George and Richard met up with Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman in the Woody Creek Tavern and things got a whole lot weirder. As Dr. Gonzo once stated though, "when the going gets weird the weird turn pro," so today we ship over 500,000 cases a year, across the world, from our state-of-the-art facility in Frederick, Maryland. The Maryland Brewery utilizes cutting-edge technologies to aid in water conservation, ensuring the same great Flying Dog drinking experience time after time. |

In 1979, Ken Grossman began building a small brewery in the town of Chico, California. His goal: to brew exceptional ales and lagers. Today, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is considered the premier craft brewery in the United States. And the beer? Critics proclaim it “Among the best brewed anywhere in the world.” |
|||
|
Ken’s passion for brewing began when a friend showed him the basics of home brewing. Using homemade equipment, Ken began brewing five-gallon batches of beer on his own, and soon became a proficient home brewer. In 1976, after studying chemistry and physics at Butte Community College and California State University at Chico, Ken opened his own store, The Home Brew Shop. There, he supplied Chico’s home-brewing community with equipment, materials, and advice, but dreamed of opening his own brewery. |

Two years later, it was time to make the dream a reality. Ken and co-founder Paul Camusi cobbled a brewery together from dairy tanks, a soft-drink bottler, and equipment salvaged from defunct breweries. Though the equipment was secondhand, they created a first-rate microbrewery. The ingredients were premium, including the copious quantities of hops that would become the brewery’s trademark. An avid backpacker, Ken named the new company for his favorite hiking grounds—the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Finally, on November 15, 1980, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. brewed the first batch of what would soon become a landmark in American craft brewing: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Word spread quickly, and over the next decade the demand for Sierra Nevada brews soon exceeded the brewery’s modest brewing capacity. Despite nearly constant additions to the brewery, Ken was soon back at the drawing board, planning a new brewery. In 1989, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. moved to its current site. |
||
|
Ken traveled to Germany and brought back a traditional 100-barrel copper brew house, which became the heart of the new brewery. This met demand for a while, but the brewery soon needed to expand again. In 1997, Ken commissioned the original coppersmiths to match new kettles to the originals, bringing the brewery’s total capacity to almost eight hundred thousand barrels per year. Building the new brewery afforded Sierra Nevada the opportunity to create two stunning showcases, both featuring exceptional dining, live music, and its award-winning beers. The elegant Sierra Nevada Taproom and Restaurant has become a destination in its own right. With mouthwatering lunch and dinner menus, an impressive dining room, and a large outdoor dining patio, it offers distinctive, contemporary cuisine as well as an opportunity to sample the brewery’s entire line of premium ales and lagers, including hard-to-find specialty drafts. The 350-seat Big Room—a beautifully designed live music and multi-purpose room—was constructed on the west end of the brewery to feature live music events for all ages and is a perfect facility for weddings, reunions, and business conferences. To this day, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. remains true to its roots. Ken is still personally involved in every aspect of brewery operation. Most importantly, the Sierra Nevada commitment to quality remains the same. Premium ingredients and time-honored brewing techniques make Sierra Nevada ales and lagers truly exceptional beers. |

FROM The Bruery's Website:
"A small craft brewery located in Orange County, California. Our simple but often confusing name is a fusion of 'brewery' with our family name, Rue.
Our calling is to create beers with character and depth using the simplest and purest of means. We do not filter or pasteurize our beers. All of our bottled beers gain carbonation through 100% bottle conditioning, allowing carbonation to naturally occur through a secondary bottle fermentation. We strive to use unconventional ingredients, and we will proudly state what we put in our beers.
We enjoy serving you, your friends and your family."

This is a dark, somewhat roasty Belgian-style ale brewed with cocoa nibs, caramelized sugar and toasted pecans. (ABV: 12%, IBU: 30, SRM: 25, Format: 750 mL bottles and draft)
I was lucky enough to get some of the Bruery two turtle doves ale its brewed with coco nibs, toasted pecans etc... i haven't tried it yet but am looking foward to it. I will let you know how it was. The Bruery is putting out a 12 year series following the 12 days of christmas and this is the second of the series. I wonder what in the heck they are going to use for some of the other lyrics like 8 maids a milking or 10 lords a leaping. Well it will be a long wait. We review the Sculpin by Ballast Point Brewing. A limited release IPA. Tons of flavor, its a real special beer.
Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Renee. It's an odd mixture of beer and sour candy that is not for the faint of heart. The flavors are so strong that I can only describe it as lemoney violence. It just assaults your taste buds over and over again.
